H.W.B. Walker Memorial Educational Scholarship

H.W.B. WALKER MEMORIAL EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING SCHOLARSHIP

​

  1. The applicant must be a member of the church for at least one year. In addition, the applicant must have regularly and actively participated in church activities, by supporting the church with his/her time, talent and financial resources.

  2. Applicant receiving a scholarship must be in good scholastic standing and must achieve and maintain a Grade Point Average of 2.5 or better at the time of application.  *Students with learning disabilities may apply. Only the official transcript from your School Counselor will be accepted by the committee. 

  3.  Applicant must be a high school graduate with a high school diploma or high school certificate, who is pursuing a university or college education, or a special vocation at an accredited school.

  4. It is mandatory that each applicant  provide a total of three references. At least one reference must be from a ministry leader  documenting his/her active participation in church activities. A second letter of reference must be from a teacher or counselor documenting your scholastic achievement or leadership. The third letter of reference may be from someone who knows your character. This should not be a family member. Reference forms are to be completed and provided as part of the application package (See attachment Page 6).

  5. A current photo must be provided with each application. Must be a headshot.

  6. Once awarded a scholarship the applicant must provide verification from the office of the registrar documenting proof of college enrollment for at least 12 credit hours of classes.  

  7. All applications must be submitted to hwbmemorial@secondcalvary.org 

  8. ANY APPLICATION RECEIVED AFTER THE DUE DATE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. No exceptions to this policy will be honored.
